A Word About GABS From The Cookie Lady:

The Great American Bake Sale Website
Here you will be able to register your bake sale (as an individual or a team). You will also find information on campaign sponsors, spokespeople, bake sale resources, and hunger facts.  This is where you will login to your fundraising page (explained below) so make sure once you register to give a quick bookmark.  The site also offers a "Bake Sale Map", located on the bottom right sidebar.  By adding your event to this map it will not be accessible to people searching for you throughout the GABS website, but will also generate adequate search engine results, so definitely take advantage!

Your Personal Fundraising Page:
This can be accessed by logging in on the GABS main site.
Each bake sale participant is given an online, customizable website to fundraise with.  This tool was integrated in 2010 and is incredibly helpful, as you can raise additional funds from virtually anywhere.  Here you will have the ability to build your bake sale team, email team members and donors, blog and track your progress.  When sending our event invites, we always include the link (which is customizable for your convenience) to our team page for those who cannot attend but still want to support our efforts.  We hosted an online raffle with our site in 2011, one of our most successful campaigns, lending to the page's usefulness.

The Bake Sale Neighborhood
This is an open forum Ning network where you will be able to connect with other bake sale participants from around the country.  There is an overwhelming amount of resources that can be taken advantage of including all the items available on the main site in the Resource Center.  Here is a great place to ask the questions you may have, share your successes and ideas and keep up to date with the various events GABS hosts during the bake sale season (3/1-10/31).  You will also have a personal page that pictures, videos and blogs can be imported to. You will be able to create events that invitations (through email) can be sent out.  You can also share everything you are doing in the forum via Twitter

Your Great American Bake Sale can be anything you want it to be...heck, you don't even need to bake!  The idea is that you have a grassroots way of sharing your strength, so be creative and have fun with it :)
